A parody of “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music

(With apologies to Rodgers & Hammerstein and the entire genre of musical theatre)

We needed help with a state celebration,

To make it a model for arts ‘cross the nation,

But lacking an agency with pedigree,

Caused us to turn to Team ND&P.

 Their pitch to our leadership blew us away,

With ideas and angles in endless array,

Plus all of the goodies that filled us with glee,

The decision was easy:  It’s ND&P!

 First there is Roger with bear hugs enormous,

Then Lois’ humor and laughter to warm us,

Poor Shaun Amanda deals with our I.T.,

The dogs and all others at ND&P.

 Websites, and Facebook, and U-Tube and Twitter,

“Out of home” media that sets us aglitter,

News clips from papers, you’ll have to agree,

Are all the results of Team ND&P.

 It hasn’t been easy, the record will show,

Our media launch with First Ladies in tow,

The Guv’ (beg your pardon!) trumped our jubilee,

But we drowned our sorrows with ND&P.

 They say, “Trust us,” “It’s a good thing,” “We know this will sell,”

But when they start thinking they’ve lived through this hell,

Just wait ‘til two thousand… and twelve!
